The festive season is upon us once again, and you know what that means, right? Its the best time to meet with relatives and friends you haven’t had a chance to meet within the year and traveling is pretty much involved at this time.
Whether you’re heading to the Coast for some sun or sand, or upcountry to meet up with your relatives and spend some quality family time, Jayraini has got your back with these tips for your consideration.
- Plan Well
You know what they say, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. In order to prevent last minute dashes to make reservation and transport plans, it is advised to strategize on your travel plans to save on costs, as the prices of services and products tend to be hiked by providers. In addition, you also get the best value for your money, I call it a kill of two birds with one stone.
However, don’t go crazy with the planning, with strict schedules and minute-by-minute planning. This tends to ruin the festive spirit of the season. It’s almost given that something almost always go wrong and for this reason, we should not sweat the small stuff. For this reason, relax, something almost always works out most of the time, o.k, half of the time 🙂
2. Pack Wisely
Firstly,in case you suffering from any ailments, your medicine. This will ensure you stay safe throughout this holiday period.
Secondly, outfits. With the unpredictable weather we are experiencing, I would advice you throw in something heavy, just in case the weather changes. Better safe than sorry.
Thirdly, travel essentials such as your Identification Cards, Drivers License and Log Books (for those driving to their destinations), Phone chargers, a camera (if you have one), and finally, money (cash or otherwise).
Lastly, also pack some snacks that will maintain your energy levels and ensure those hunger pangs are kept at bay.
P.S. In case you are using your car and traveling to a new destination, be sure to keep your phone charged, you never know when you might need to make an urgent call or find directions on Google Maps. Thank God for Google!
3. Safety First
Lock up all doors and windows of your home to prevent burglary. At the same time, ensure all electronic equipment are disconnected from their power sources, lest there is a power surge. You can also leave your phone number with a trusted neighbor who can reach you in case an emergency arises.
For those driving, please ensure your car is well serviced, check oil, tires, you know, the works. Also, during this festive period, let’s not take one for the road, unless its of course, milk, a cup to tea, coffee, O.k, you know where I’m going with this, don’t ya?
All in all, we at Jayraini wish you a happy festive season and please, treat yourself, you deserve it and have the time of your life while at it! What’s that they say about doing that one thing that scares your bank account? I’m sure financial experts would cringe at the thought of that. However, do spend wisely, or else, going big on spending will definitely get you home, literally.
Till next post, Happy Holidays!
